We've been getting some comments about the blog itself that we'd love to share, but they don't count as secrets proper. This post is set up so you can offer comments or suggestions regarding this project and the direction in which you'd like to see it move. As always, you can also contact us at uncchsecrets@gmail.com with your ideas.
We look forward to hearing from you.

this blog is a gift. it allows me to read other people's secrets, realizing some of them to be my own, and realizing that in fact, i am not alone. thank you.
It'd be nice to know the exact times you'd update during the day...ie: ~9am, ~noon, ~5pm, and ~10pm, ~ midnight. I always get my hopes up coming back and seeing no new updates.
Your updates are really slow recently.....arghh
We'd love to be more consistent with our updates, but we're students with some serious end-of-the-year stress, just like you. We update as often as time and the whim of our posters permit.
I think this blog was a wonderful idea. And I actually do look at people differently after reading posts here-- I realize that we all have problems and we all have secrets...we really are all the same. thanks so much for setting this up
i hope this doesn't devolve into juicycampus type BS...
Not to name names (JUICYCAMPUS), but one of our main concerns is keeping this blog a judgment-free space devoid of speculation, blame, and debate unlike several other sites of recent notoriety. That said, we take what secrets are submitted in accordance with the guidelines we've posted, not our own personal tastes in what makes a "good" secret, so, fingers crossed, the posts will make for interesting reading that is sympathy-inducing rather than merely salacious. That part is rather more up to our posters.
I love post secret, and when i came across this site i could really connect to it. I don't go to UNC, I go to NC State and was wondering if there is something like this for state, and if not, maybe you could help me start one.
We're so pleased that you are interested in this project, and if you want to start one at State, we salute you. We just had an idea, got a gmail address and a blogger account, and set the whole thing up in about forty-five minutes, honestly. The particulars are still being worked out as we go, but if you set up a sister site, we'd love to link to it. Also, if you have questions about the process, give us a shout at uncchsecrets@gmail.com. Best of luck to you.
This site has turned me into the most passive-aggressive person in the world...but it's the only way I can get what I want to say out without saying it directly!
I can see that the average secrets per day has tripled since January, but how many hits do you get a day? I'm going to guess a lot...
The UNC-CH Secrets Project 2008 began on March 20th, but we only added the visitor counter on April 8th.
Since then, the number of unique visitors (that's the number of people who visit the site in a certain period of time, not pageviews) has steadily grown. For example, the site had 240 visitors on April 8, 2008, 451 a week later, and 835 the week after that.
The counter we've got allows us to see the number of pageviews, too. As of this post, we're at 28654 and counting.

To the mods: out of all of previous posts, I would call only one of them a secret. Is this a site for secrets, or to post anonymous gripes?
Our general rule of thumb is to look to PostSecret for guidance. If we think it would be accepted there, we post it. Generally we try to err on the side of getting everyone's submission posted.
I love it when I come onto the page and see that it is currently being updated! It makes me feel special to know I'm seeing it "right off the press"...kind of the same feeling as when you step into a brand new set of clothes.
