I have a 1.891 and i don't think I'll be able to come back to UNC in the fall. I've never been so sick in my life...

how can i tell my parents that i was so close to a 2.0 but wasn't good enough to cut it? who can i talk to that will help?... i need help

this exact thing happened to me my freshman year, you need at least a 1.0 after 1 semester, then 1.5 after 2 semesters, and i think it increases in increments of .5 per semester. but if you check in the undergrad bulletin it spells it out.

it sucks. that feeling that you have to tell your parents and that your entire life is crashing down on you is devastating. but just get the parents thing out of the way. they don't want you leaving school either, so they'll help. i emailed teachers to help bump my grade up. they felt sorry for me when i told them how their grade depended on my return to college.

You know you could always go talk with someone in CWS about strategies for talking w/ your parents, & of course your Advisor to discuss what you should do. Hope it goes well!

if you have to take time off, try to do more than just take extra classes to boost your gpa - volunteer too! this a great time to do that: volunteer for one of the presidential candidates. good luck!
