My roommate's relationship with her boyfriend has made me understand why women remain in emotionally and physically abusive relationships. How does she still live in denial?

There are a lot of things that you're willing to overlook if you really care about someone. All of a sudden, the things that s/he says seem true, and you begin to believe that you actually deserve all of the horrible things that happen.

It sucks. I've been there. I hope she finds a way out.
